STARS Rideshare Board Members

  STARS Board and Operations volunteers work behind the scenes to make every ride possible. From guiding the organization to supporting daily operations, these roles offer flexible ways to make a lasting difference in our community.

  • Operations and Board members must have:

    • A desire to serve the community

    • A telephone

    • A computer

    • Email access

    • Communication skills

  • Operations and Board members must:

    • Complete an online application, where they will submit personal information.

    • Comply with the STARS Code of Ethics.

    • Complete onboarding sessions with a mentor.

    • Pass a Background Check.

    • Attend the monthly Operations Team or quarterly Board Meetings.

    • Get and use a starsride.org email address.

    • Learn and use the STARS Goole Workspace for collaboration and file maintenance.

  • STARS is looking for volunteer board members who are passionate about our mission and interested in helping strengthen a vital community service. We welcome individuals who enjoy learning, collaborating, and contributing their skills to support access to non-emergency medical care for those unable to drive in Sisters Country.

    Experience or interest in fundraising, marketing, donor relations, website or workspace management, or nonprofit administration is a plus, but not required.

    The STARS Board meets quarterly, offering a meaningful opportunity to make an impact with a manageable time commitment. Other meetings as needed.

  • STARS relies on dedicated volunteers to support the operational heartbeat of our mission, providing safe, reliable rides to non-emergency medical appointments for residents who cannot drive in Sisters Country.

    We welcome individuals who are passionate about community service, enjoy teamwork, and bring a positive, can-do attitude. 

    No prior experience is required, but interest or skills in areas such as scheduling, dispatch support, rider communication, clerical tasks, or customer service are a plus.

    Operations Team volunteers work from home with flexibility and purpose. One monthly in-person meeting.
