At STARS, we believe no one should be isolated because they can’t drive.
We are a community-powered nonprofit that began serving our community in 2019 to help the current generation get to non-emergency medical appointments and now we are working on making sure we can meet the growing demand and continue serving the generations to come.
In 2024, thanks to a committed team of volunteer drivers and dispatchers, we helped our neighbors access doctors, dentists, physical therapists and other medical professionals.

The Stronger Together Initiative:
Grow our capacity and expand our team
In late 2025 we will launch a “Stronger Together " initiative—a community-building program that recognizes STARS’ role in fostering meaningful connections between neighbors. From ride-along chats to supporting other local initiatives aimed at seniors, this pilot project will create deeper relationships and partnerships with businesses and individuals.
To bring this vision to life, we must grow our capacity and expand our team. As the need for accessible, inclusive medical transportation in Sisters increases, so does our responsibility—and we invite our community partners to help us meet it.
With added staff and support, “Stronger Together” will allow us to continue serving the community and be there for those who need us, every mile of the way. As we look to the future, our vision remains clear: to create a more livable, inclusive, healthy, and connected community for all.
